TASTING NOTES

The Personality

A young businessman coming into his own. A young adult who is starting to settle down and find and repeat the things he loves. He’s active and looks after himself both physically and emotionally but enjoys treating himself and others. Enjoys going out but not in excess, more like once-a-week dinner or drinks after work. Responsible, in a sense predictable but in the way all people are. He isn’t boring but if you know him well enough, you’ll know what his limits and preferences are though he doesn’t always show it. Easy going and relaxed, goes with the flow but a leader at heart and when he lifts his voice people listen.

As much as he enjoys intelli-gent stimulating conversation, he loves talking nonsense and just enjoying a good Friday braai with friends. He’s a passionate guy, surprising new friends with loud outbursts of cheer when watching rugby or doing something he loves. Though he is passionate he doesn’t take himself to seriously and can laugh at himself when he gets worked up. He’s a homebody who enjoys occasionally going out with friends.

He goes hunting every year at the same place with the same people and shares the same old stories every time. He enjoys what he knows and is weary to try what he doesn't. Having tried much of everything else he knows what he likes and sticks to it. Sits in his leather chair, smoking his pipe and watching the same old cowboy movies every evening. TASTING NOTES

Who is she

SHE is refreshing.
SHE is subtle.
SHE is elegant.
SHE is beautiful.

Now SHE joins this family of wine brands and, although so subtle, SHE makes her presence known from the outset. SHE is a dry rosé of Chardonnay and Pinot noir and speaks of subtleness and sophistication. The rose-gold bottle-printed design of SHE is subtle and minimalist. The back text simply states, “SHE IS WORTH FAR MORE.”

TASTING NOTES

On the nose there are subtle hints of fresh rose petals, jasmine and the first touch of spring. The taste reveals strawberries, watermelon and pink lady apples. The body is elegant and the taste delicate and deliciously dry.

More about her

SHE can make time stand still while SHE tells you stories of sunsets and leisurely walks through rose gardens. SHE loves delicate food. SHE smells like peaches and cream. SHE brings together. SHE celebrates life.

TASTING NOTES

The Personality

Planted in 1926, these bush vines are frail but still offer their crop every year. A blend of Red Muscadel and Muscat du Hambourg is made from ancient vines. This is the only vineyard in South Africa to be declared a Conservation Worthy Prop-erty by the Board of National Monuments. The picture on the label is that of my great-grandfa-ther, the founder of Weltevrede.

Tasting notes

Red brick colour. Rich aromas of ripe cherries and raisins on the nose and on the palate with a hint of dates on the finish. Fortified and full sweet.

food pairing

Cheese board, venison pie and any desert with flavors of chocolate or dark berries.

TASTING NOTES

The Personality

This must be the only wine in the world named after a person who never drank a drop of wine. Ouma se Wyn is named after my grandmother, the daughter-in-law of my great-grandfather who founded Weltevrede in 1912. Experience handed down from generation to generation is used to craft this wine in the way it was done in the old days. The picture on the label is that of my grandmother.

TASTING NOTES

Bright golden colour. Fragrances of citrus blossoms, litchis and honey. Honey and citrus are predominant on the palate. It is full sweet but finishes with a beautiful elegance.

Food Pairing

Patés, orange chocolate fruit tarts, and any other citrus-based deserts. Try as a welcome drink on crushed ice, a wedge of lemon and ginger.
